Phases 1 to 9 are nine separate fan builds that share one mixing loop: drag characters into slots and listen. The number is a label, not a difficulty setting and not a story order. Phase 1 is the brightest and simplest entry, Phases 3 and 4 carry Halloween labelling, Phases 7 and 8 lean horror, and Phase 6 is really five builds behind one hub. Use the table below to pick a first build by mood, then run the same ten-minute test on two of them.

Choose between two phases in ten minutes
Do not compare nine builds. Pick two from the table, run the same three sounds in both, and write down the one difference that mattered.
How this table was built
Every row links to the page this site actually serves, and the “page label” column quotes what that page advertises. The “what you get” column describes the player and the loop, which we can see. Where the two disagree, trust the player. We do not fill gaps with lore we cannot check, because a wrong claim about a build is worse than a short table.
The nine phases, row by row
| Phase | Play | What the page labels it | What you get | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Phase 1 | Play Phase 1 | Vibrant characters and soundscapes | The plainest palette of the nine and the shortest route to a first mix | Learning the loop |
| Phase 2 | Play Phase 2 | New sounds, abstract visuals, refined controls | A busier screen with more sound choices than Phase 1 | Players who found Phase 1 thin |
| Phase 3 | Play Phase 3 | “The Halloween mod that started it all” | Dark melodies and eerie textures; the phase 3 page lives at /phase-3 | A first Halloween mix |
| Phase 4 | Play Phase 4 | A haunting Halloween rhythm soundscape | Spooky loops and dark percussion with a Halloween frame | Halloween videos |
| Phase 5 | Play Phase 5 | Historic link to the Phase 666_6 build | A wide sound library and a loop editor; the page is a hosted version | Trying more sounds at once |
| Phase 6 | Compare five Phase 6 builds | Five versions in one hub | Original, Fan-made, Definitive, Remastered and The Scarlet Sun, each playable | Version hunters |
| Phase 7 | Play Phase 7 | The latest horror-themed mixing mod | Haunting visuals and a darker sound palette than Phases 1 and 2 | Horror mixes |
| Phase 8 | Play Phase 8 | Horror-themed, eerie music, spooky characters | A horror-leaning build with its own cast treatment | Horror mixes with a different cast |
| Phase 9 | Play Phase 9 | Quirky characters and a variety of sound elements | A large sound set in a bright frame, plus a separate horror mod | A first ambitious mix |

Phase 3 is not at the URL you expect
Phase 3 has its own page, but it lives at /phase-3 rather than /sprunki-phase-3, and that is the canonical address this site uses. If you land on a different phase 3 URL from a search result or a video description, check the title on the page before you compare notes. The builds behind similarly named pages are not guaranteed to be the same upload.
Phase 6 is five builds, not one
Phase 6 is the only number in this range that openly splits into editions. The hub page compares Original, Fan-made, Definitive, Remastered and The Scarlet Sun using screenshots from each. If someone says “Phase 6 is the scary one”, they are describing one of the five. Start with the Remastered build if you want the most polished of the set, and read the hub before you spend an evening on the wrong one.
A ten-minute way to choose
Do not compare nine builds. Compare two, with the same three sounds, on the same device. If you cannot hear a difference, the choice does not matter yet and you should pick the one whose screen you prefer. That is a legitimate result, not a failure to notice a secret.
What the numbers do not tell you
Higher numbers do not mean newer, harder, longer or scarier in any reliable order. Phases 3 and 4 both carry Halloween labelling; Phases 7 and 8 lean horror; later numbers can return to a bright palette. The number is part of the title an uploader chose. Treat it as a name and you will stop being surprised.
Pick by goal
First mix ever: Phase 1, then Phase 2. Halloween project: Phase 3 at /phase-3, then Phase 4. Horror sound: Phase 7 or Phase 8, and the horror hub if you want the wider list. Most sounds to play with: Phase 5 or Phase 9. You enjoy version differences: the Phase 6 hub.
Keep going
The phase index lists the wider numbered catalogue, the games hub covers builds outside the numbered series, and the phase naming guide explains why two pages with similar names can serve different uploads. If you only want a head-to-head, the Phase 1 vs Phase 9 test runs the same method on the two ends of this range. For the opposite comparison, the normal vs horror test covers the presentation layer rather than the phase numbers.
The short version: choose a mood, open two builds, and let your ears decide. The number on the title is the least useful thing on this page.
