Information you provide
When you post a comment, we store the nickname, comment text, page and submission time. Your nickname and approved comment can be publicly visible. Please do not include passwords, payment details or other sensitive information in comments.
Accounts, email sign-in and the ad-free subscription
Every game can be played without an account. If you choose to sign in, we store the email address you enter, when the account was created and when it was last used. Sign-in emails you a six-digit code: we keep a one-way hash of that code rather than the code itself, and the sent message is emptied from our mail queue once a provider accepts it, so a copy of our database cannot be used to sign in. Codes expire after ten minutes, and repeated requests from one address or one network are rate limited.
The ad-free plan is a paid subscription. Payments are processed by Stripe on our behalf; card details are entered in Stripe's payment form and are never received or stored by Sprunki.com. We keep the subscription status, the plan and the order reference, so the ad-free state survives signing out on another device and so billing questions can be answered.
Signing in sets the sp_sess cookie, and the ad-free state is remembered in the sp_pro cookie. Both are first-party, signed, HTTP-only and unreadable by page scripts. Signing out clears the session cookie. A subscription can be cancelled from the account page, which stops the next renewal.
Game interactions and site operation
We record game-page interactions, time with the game page visible, searches and clicks to external sites to understand where the experience needs improvement. These records can include the page, game, event, referring or destination website and country. Our service uses a random first-party visitor identifier in the sp_vid cookie, which expires after one year and is not accessible to page JavaScript.
Comment and interaction endpoints use a hashed IP address for rate limiting and abuse prevention. Hosting and external service providers can also receive technical request information, including your IP address, browser and requested URL. Clearing site cookies removes the visitor identifier from your browser.
Analytics
Sprunki.com loads Google Analytics and our self-hosted Plausible instance to measure visits and usage. Google Analytics may use cookies and device identifiers and sends information to Google under its privacy terms. Our Plausible instance receives analytics requests on our analytics domain. Browser privacy controls and content blockers may limit these requests.
Google advertising cookies and your choices
We display advertising through Google AdSense. Google and other advertising vendors may use cookies or similar identifiers to select and measure ads, including ads informed by previous visits to this site or other websites. Google advertising cookies can support personalized advertising from Google and its partners. Advertising requests and web beacons may also convey IP addresses and device identifiers to these vendors.
You can review or turn off Google personalized ads in My Ad Center. Participating third-party vendors offer additional choices through the Digital Advertising Alliance. Browser settings also let you manage cookies. These choices do not necessarily remove all advertisements.
Embedded games and external links
Some games and links are provided by third parties. Opening them can send your browser information to the provider, whose privacy practices may differ from ours. Review the provider’s policy before sharing personal information.
Contact and updates
For a privacy question, a request about a comment you posted, or to delete an account and the email address stored with it, contact hi@sprunki.com from that address with enough information to identify the request. We remove the account record and keep only the minimum a billing record requires. Do not email passwords, card details or sign-in codes.
